The strategy and campaign concept were developed in close collaboration with Katy. Filmed in Los Angeles, the campaign unfolds a deliberately contradictory narrative – both visually and conceptually. At the nostalgic Pink Motel in Sun Valley, she stages a stylized, 1960s-inspired world that straddles the line between glamour and absurdity. The creative direction plays with tension throughout: elegance meets playfulness, the everyday meets the surreal. Ordinary moments are elevated by extravagant luxury and unexpected, colorful twists. Extravagant looks in an authentic setting blur the line between staged fantasy and lived realism. The campaign film reinforces this duality through Katy’s tongue-in-cheek voiceovers and a self-deprecating performance. Through Greg Swales’ visual signature and Capturing’s cinematic storytelling, contradiction becomes a coherent world in which irony, glamour, and authenticity coexist.
