Tschüss Autobahn
To promote a shift from car travel to rail, a participatory campaign invited Facebook users with an affinity for trains to vote on three discounted ticket options. The most compelling offer – selected by the audience – became the central product of the campaign, ensuring relevance through direct user involvement. The chosen ticket of desire was brought to life in a cinematic TV spot. The film portrays an everyday commuter standing on a motorway bridge, waving goodbye to passing cars while delivering a manifesto about leaving behind the frustrations of highway travel. Intercut scenes capture the unfiltered reality of German autobahns, highlighting congestion, routine, and the emotional toll of daily commuting. The narrative builds to a clear turning point: the protagonist abandons the motorway and opts for the train, symbolizing a conscious decision for a more relaxed and sustainable mode of transport. By combining audience participation with emotionally driven storytelling, the campaign reframes rail travel as a deliberate and desirable alternative.
